The beach is the proud possessor of a European Union Blue Flag for its safe clean facilities.

Kalamaki is considered the most beautiful beach in the region Kassiopi.

	Kalamaki, on the northern coast of Corfu, is nestled in the shadows of Corfu's highest mountain, Pantokrator and over looks the distant rugged mountains of Albania.
This position leads to the fabulous big sandy beach offering warm shallow waters ideal for family bathing and water games for all ages.		The sea has shallow waters, where, during the ebb tide sandy islands magically appear, excellent for sand castle building.
Michaels is the "man for all eventualities "on the beach.
	The water is in the front area of the bridge facility only ankle to knee-deep and reached there in midsummer nearly bathtub temperature.
Further offshore, in the deeper waters, are wonderful meadows of sea grass, ideal for snorkelling and collecting fresh mussels for supper. One finds the bigger mussels in about 5m depth of water.

The beach is divided by a long jetty for visiting pleasure boats and also provides a base for amateur anglers.		A small brook flows into the sea and provides a wonderful display for fish spotting . All this surrounded by fields of reeds . (Kalamaki in English means reed).
